#theparadoxstudio https://www.theparadoxstudio.com/ Since 1982, Women’s Aid Organisation — WAO — has stood for one powerful belief: every woman deserves to live with dignity, safety, and freedom.
For over four decades, we have walked alongside survivors, strengthened communities, and challenged systems that allow gender-based violence to persist. And in 2024 and 2025, that mission came alive in new and inspiring ways. Through GERAK 2024, communities across Terengganu were empowered to recognise, respond to, and prevent violence. Our advocacy against stalking and sexual harassment continued to push boundaries — while inside our shelter, moments of celebration reminded women and children that joy, healing, and belonging are possible again.
In 2025, GERAK reached young girls in Kuala Kubu Bharu, nurturing courage, confidence, and leadership through education and creativity. Their voices came alive through a powerful wayang kulit performance, turning knowledge into advocacy. The launch of RE:CARE research, national partnerships–=, and policy memorandums strengthened protection for women across Malaysia —– while collaborations with Astro’s Aadhira carried these messages into homes nationwide.
Every training delivered. Every voice amplified. Every survivor supported. Together, they shape a future where violence is no longer tolerated — and equality is lived. As we move into 2026, our journey continues.
