KUKA Malaysia – SME Case Study – A Strong Partner in Automation

The family business Gopeng Kalsium Sdn Bhd is one of the leading producers of limestone and dolomite rock powder in Malaysia. The powders are used in the construction, agriculture, plastic and rubber industry. They are delivered in 50 kg bags, which previously had to be palletized by hand under great effort.

Together with KUKA’s system partner Smartsense Sdn Bhd, a new robot-based solution is implemented into the production line to relieve its workers and secure long-term productivity.

Smartsense integrated KUKA robot with a web-based solution to create a truly smart factory. KUKA robot is combined with sensors to create a seamless workflow of the production line. The data of the palletizing solution is collected, logged and processed with an Industrial PC and then stored in the cloud storage, to be accessible by the management team.
