The country of Laos provides something for every class of traveller and especially those who like a little adventure as well as their creature comforts.
Luang Prabang is the jewel in the Lao crown. It is a beautiful old city that is located on the Mekong river and thatt can be reached by road or air and also by boat from Thailand.
We really enjoyed are short stay here while we worked and explored the city.
Besides it’s numerous temples the city also retains it’s colonial charm with many old restored buildings. It is a most pleasant place to explore either on foot or by bycycle.
One particular attraction occurs each morning when over two hundred monks proceed through the city in silence to collect alms from residents and visitors alike. It is a very moving experience that is alone well worth the visit.
